RIP Mike Wieringo

I'm absolutely shocked. Mike was one of the first pros that ever wrote me to let me know what he thought of my work, unsolicited and full of praise, ten years ago when I started SOULWIND. A truly kind man.

Matt Brady has more at NEWSARAMA.

I'll have some post-con wrap-up news and info on when ANCIENT BOOK and SCRAP METTLE limited editions are shipping soon (ANCIENT BOOKS will ship this week, if I've received your payment). I'm back to work from my break, so things are busy. Thanks for everyone's patience.

So does this mean you do not have any more copies of Scrap mettle special editions left for sale?

I'll have a couple...stay tuned...

Hey James, you could show a little more tact and respect. Scott posted about the passing of a fellow artist (and a damn good one at that) and all you care about is copies of Scrap mettle?

My fault....It was never my intention to disrespect anyone...I was and still am a huge fan of Weiringo...especially on his FF run with Mark Waid...sorry if I have offended anyone....

I'm so sad to hear about Mike Wieringo, he was a truly wonderful artist and storyteller!

Tellos was one of the first comics I read when I became interested in comics and is one of the comics that truly inspires me to try and be an artist and storyteller!

Much like everyone else, I was shocked and saddened to hear this news. I only met Mike once, but he was a very friendly man. His work was amazing. Taken much too early, he will be missed by many.

Jeff posted it on his blog and it just blew me away. So sad. So sudden. Such a loss.

I loved what you wrote tho, Scott. It does mean so much when you get recognition from someone you respect, especially when it's out of the blue.

And on a happier note, thanks for the personal update! You're posts have been missed.
